There are many benefits included in California workers’ compensation. Here are some of the following benefits:
Medical Care – Medical care benefits paid for by your employer. To help recover from work-related injury. Costs that may be covered include medical care and services that are “reasonably necessary” to treat your work-related injury. Examples of these potential covered costs include medicine, travel costs, and medical tests.
Temporary Disability Benefits – Temporary compensation to cover lost wages caused by work-injury related disability (temporary).
Permanent Disability Benefits – Permanent compensation to cover a permanent disability that seriously hinders one physical or mental health.
Supplemental Job Displacement Benefit – Voucher that helps compensate retraining/skill improvement. Conditions: must be eligible to receive permanent disability benefits, the employer doesn’t offer you work, and you do not return to work for your employer. This voucher is available for injuries starting in 2004 and on. Further, if this injury happened at any point starting from 2013 and on, and you did receive this benefit, you might also be able to receive an extra one-time compensation (Return-to-Work Supplement Program).
Death Benefits – Compensation for families/dependents when your work-related injury/illness causes death.
